6000 series aluminum profile features

6000 series aluminum alloy is aluminum, magnesium, silicon as the main alloying elements of the alloy, the main grades include 6061 and 6063. These alloys are widely used because of their excellent workability, high strength, good corrosion resistance and weldability.

Main component
Aluminum (Al) matrix component.
Magnesium (Mg) : Increases the strength and corrosion resistance of the alloy.
Silicon (Si) : combined with magnesium to form Mg2Si, making the alloy easy to harden by heat treatment and improve mechanical properties.

6000 series aluminum profile production process

Design and Mold development:

Demand analysis: clear product requirements, size specifications, mechanical properties, etc.
Design drawing: Draw detailed design drawing according to the requirements, design the required cross-section shape.
Mold production: According to the drawing production of extrusion mold, to ensure the accuracy of the mold to ensure the accurate molding of profiles.

Extrusion process:

Heating and extrusion: The aluminum billet is heated to 450°C to 500°C and then extruded through a die.
Cooling and stretching: After extrusion by air or water cooling, tensile straightening to eliminate internal stress.

Heat treatment:


Quenching: Rapid cooling to increase strength and hardness.
Aging treatment: heating at a specific temperature to achieve the final mechanical properties.

Surface treatment:

Anodizing: increased corrosion resistance and decorative, can be selected according to the needs of different colors.
